A dogs companionship

Ok, so how couldn't you fall for this dog right?! Well, this is my parents dog Tanner who has been around since my junior year of HS. She has been my 'sister' through many joys and sorrows that have come in and out of my life over the past several years. She is quite a listener and rarely if at all talks back to me or gives me grief.

So, why do I post about Tanner today. Well, we about lost Tanner today due to severe circumstances with finding out she was anemic yesterday and could've had other issues we weren't aware of involving her sicknesses recently. She didn't act quite right all summer my parents have told me and when I was back in Ohio ovee Labor Day I could tell something was going on with her.

To make a long story short, the vet said yesterday that they could do surgery which was really risky at this point for her and that she might not even make it through. After my parents talked about it last night, they were going to see about putting her to sleep bc they didn't want to see her suffer. Of course my mom was upset and didn't want to see this happen. So as my mom watched my dad take Tanner to the Vet yesterday, she didn't think she would be seeing Tanner again. A little bit later, she heard the phone ring and it was my dad. He decided to give the surgery a shot today. My mom left me a message last night about it and told me that she would keep me posted today. Well, I knew that this was going to be hard for me to see Tanner go, but if it meant she wouldn't suffer I would have to deal with it. I will admit this AM I broke down and cried a bit while praying that God would do His will in this manner knowing it was a dog and not human. I believe that God does care about our requests big or small. Later today, I found out she made it through and was going to be going home tomorrow! I'm hoping that she will be able to recover at home and be ready for a Jenny hug when I go back in November for my brothers wedding.

I love my dog and I'm not afraid to admit it!

Jenny so glad to hear that Tanner is all right. That picture is very sweet. I like that you love your dog and aren't afraid to admit it. Glad God decided to let her live, and not have to put your family through another tough time so soon.
love you!

I totally agree my friend - God does care about our requests no matter what size we think they are! Thanks for the comment on my site. Yeah I'm the student ministries pastor at my home church (I get to work with my dad). Mark and I are so blessed to be here. I only had 4 kids last night for youth, but I can't even explain the energy of this group! God is going to do some awesome things! Haha, so when are you coming to PA for a visit?
